Native to the Northwest, Charles E. Friedman has been producing functional and decorative blown glass objects since 1972; having been instrumental in establishing one of the very first studio glass facilities on the West Coast.

He was inspired at an early age by talented family members closely involved in the post-W.W.II renaissance of American Craft.

While studio glassblowing was in its infancy and equipment was scarce and expensive, Charles established a studio for ceramic production, successfully using the addition of glass as the signature of his wares.

After working closely with several noted production glassworkers and artists in the area, he founded Friedman Glassworks, where he continues to produce fine one-of-a-kind and production glassware.

His work is sold by singular shops and galleries throughout the United States and Canada, and he is often sought out by museums and collectors as consultant on glasswork of the Pacific Northwest.
